Mosquito genetically manipulated

The mosquito Aedes aegypti known by be the transmitters of the dengue, chikunguya, fever yellow and now the virus of the Zika, has been manipulated genetically by a British company British Oxitec Ltd. The development is a male mosquito with a lethal genetic change that is transmitting to its descendants and makes them dependent on tetracycline, so it stops the reproduction of the mosquito. Oxitec has obtained a very positive results in field tests conducted in Brazil. They claim to have the same response in Haven, Florida, East of Key West.
